Packaged System
Packaged heating and cooling for limited space installations.
What is a packaged heating and air conditioning system?
Normal home HVAC installations are done in what is called a split system design. In a split system installation, the air conditioner (or heat pump) is located outside, with the furnace (or air handler) located inside. With a packaged system, these components are contained outside in a single footprint or "package".Why use a packaged system?
If you are in a location with limited space, a packaged system can be the answer, as it locates your heating, cooling and fan motor all in a single unit that uses much less space. A packaged unit is contained outside the home, with both air ducts connected to it. Packaged systems can come all electric, or electric and gas, similar to the options available in a split system. The disadvantages of a packaged system.
Things must be sacrificed to fit everything into a single unit. Packaged systems cannot provide the same levels of efficiency that the components of a split system are able to provide, and may limit some indoor air quality options. However, they are solid, reliable solutions for homes that don't have the space for a split system design.CountryView is the leading Fox River Valley HVAC contractor.
